Air Filter Check
WARNING
Never run the engine without the air filter. Rapid engine wear will result from contaminants,
such as dust and dirt, being drawn through the carburetor into the engine.
1. Remove air filter cover and sponge.
2. Inspect filter sponge for dirt and debris.
3. Clean filter sponge by soaking in gasoline, ring out before reinstalling.
4. Replace air filter every 24 months or when necessary.
TO CLEAN THE SPONGE:
• Clean air filter sponge in warm soapy water or non-flammable detergent. Allow
to dry before reinserting into generator.
• Dip sponge in clean engine oil and squeeze out all excess oil. The engine will
produce excess smoke if too much oil is left in the filter.
• Wipe dirt off the air filter cover using a moist rag.
