Vehicle main dimensions
According to the laws, there are some limited dimensions of the vehicle to be re
-
spected.
See Chapter 2.3.1 "General considerations - Legislation to consider".
These values can differ, depending on the type of vehicle and the country. As a rule,
the main values are generally:

European vehicle classification:
N1 Vehicles used for the carriage of goods and having a maximum mass
not exceeding 3.5 tons.
N2 Vehicles used for the carriage of goods and having a maximum mass
exceeding 3.5 tons but not exceeding 12 tons.
M1 Vehicles used for the carriage of passengers and comprising not
more than eight seats in addition to the driver's seat.
M2 Vehicles used for the carriage of passengers, comprising more than
eight seats in addition to the driver's seat, and having a maximum
mass not exceeding 5 tons

2600 mm for vehicles fitted with a bodywork with insulated walls of
at least 45 mm thick

(Other lengths depend on the axle number and on the articulated
vehicles).
NOTICE
- To measure the length, width and height, the vehicle must be in running order
and placed on a flat horizontal surface, with the tyres inflated to the pressure
recommended by the manufacturer.
