Setting the HART sensor address

HART sensors can be used with the Hydro-Logic

Flexi Logger 300Ex. The

possible address range for HART sensors is from 0 to 15. HART sensors are
often shipped with the address set to 0.

With the Hydro-Logic

Flexi Logger 300Ex in HART mode, the sensor address

must be in the range from

1 to 3

. If you are only using one HART sensor, the

address should be set to

With firmware 21.75 or newer, you can set the HART address using the logger
and a PC with a serial terminal program

– there is no need for a separate HART

modem. If required,

To set the HART address,

•

Connect the Hydro-Logic

Flexi Logger 300Ex to your PC with a serial

cable.

•

Connect ONLY the sensor you wish to set the address of to any sensor

connector on the logger.

•

Ensure that the logger is configured for at least one HART sensor.

Enable this via Change Sensor in Harvest if necessary.

•

Open a

terminal program

(examples are Putty or Tera Term)

•

Set the serial parameters to the correct port, 9600 baud 8 1 N:

•

Press the up/down arrow keys a few times. The logger should wake up

and display something like this on the terminal software screen:
