Changing the Filter Element of the Suction Filter (2)
5.8.1 Before Removing the Filter Element
►
Switch off the unit at the
key.
►
Close the ball valve at the inlet of the unit (1).
►
Carefully unscrew the cover of the suction filter by hand.
•
Start up the unit again via the
key until the suction filter has drained completely.
•
Switch off the unit at the
key.
•
Close the shut-off fitting on the return side of the tank.
5.8.2 Removing the Filter Element
►
Pull the filter element off the element location spigot (examine the surface of the filter
element for residual dirt and large size particles. This is often an indication of possible
component damage).
►
Replace the filter element.
•
Clean the cover and the housing; make sure that the threading is kept clean.
•
Examine the filter for mechanical damage, taking a good look at the sealing surfaces and
the threading in particular.
•
Check the O rings and gaskets. If necessary, replace them.
Dirt/contamination or incomplete depressurization during disassembly can
result in the filter bowl screw thread being stripped.
Filter elements are to be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.
5.8.3 Replacing/Reinstalling the Filter Element
►
Wet the sealing surfaces and the thread on the cover plate and housing and the O rings on
the cover plate and filter element with clean hydraulic fluid.
►
When installing a new filter element, check to see whether the designation on the new
element corresponds to the designation on the old one.
•
Carefully mount the new filter elements onto the element location spigot.
•
Screw the cover on handtight until it will go no further, then turn it back one quarter of a
revolution.
Do not
use excessive force or a hammer, etc.
•
Open the ball valve at the inlet of the unit (1).
