In the measuring system shown as an example, both axes are limited to 60°. In the figure,
the longitudinal axis (the X axis in the example) is shown. Within a range of ± 60° the actual
measured value is given out. If, however, a value of +61° is reached, the maximum end
value +180° of the main axis is given out.
11.1.3.2. The measuring axis towards gravitational acceleration
If, for example, the inclination angle of the lateral axis (minor axis or secondary axis) lies
within the range of ±90°, the inclination angle of the longitudinal axis (main or primary axis)
will no longer be detectable, as it will point in the direction of the gravitational acceleration
g . The inclination angle of the longitudinal axis can no longer be exactly defined.
The inclination angle of an axis, longitudinal or lateral, can only be mea-
sured if it does
not coincide with the axis of the gravitational acceleration.
Subsequent to a rotation about the minor axis ( Y ; Lateral) of +90° the X axis (longitudinal)
points in the direction of the gravitational acceleration g (previously the direction of the Z
axis), see Figure 7. A movement about the longitudinal axis (X) does not represent an incli-
nation under these conditions, as it will turn into a rotation about the vertical axis.
