The FW on which the
hrp switch active
command is executed has its VGMP group priority
increased by 1 to be higher than that of the other FW and therefore becomes the active FW.
The other FW becomes the standby FW. Services on the standby FW are switched to the
active FW. Service switchover takes a few moments. To ensure service continuity, run the
hrp
switch active
command and wait one minute before performing subsequent operations.
Step 4
Run the
undo hrp track spu enable
command on the standby FW to disable the VGMP
group from monitoring the SPU.

After the SPU is inserted into the standby FW, its VGMP group priority increases and
becomes higher than that of the active FW, triggering active/standby switchover. In addition,
after the SPU is inserted, session tables on the standby FW are deleted. If active/standby
switchover occurs at this time, service traffic is discarded by the standby FW due to failure to
match session tables after being diverted to the standby FW. Therefore, before the SPU is
inserted into the standby FW, run the
undo hrp track spu enable
command on the standby
FW to disable the VGMP group from monitoring the SPU. In this way, after the SPU is
inserted into the standby FW, its VGMP group priority does not increase, active/standby
switchover is not triggered, and service traffic is still forwarded by the active FW.
Step 5
Insert the SPU into the slot of the standby FW.
1.
Take out the new SPU from the ESD bag.
NOTICE
– Pull out the SPU slowly and smoothly so that it does not bump into neighboring
boards and cause a malfunction.
– When inserting an SPU, do not touch the parts on it to avoid damaging the SPU.
2.
Holding the captive screws, insert the SPU smoothly along the guide rails of the slot
until the SPU is inserted fully into the slot, as shown in
3.
Turn the ejector levers on the SPU outward and upward to form a 45-degree angle, and at
the same time push the SPU into the slot. Then, turn the ejector levers inward and
downward until the panel of the SPU touches the slot, as shown in
(2).
4.
Using the Phillips screwdriver, turn the two captive screws clockwise to tighten them, as
shown in
