5.11.3 Removing a Hot-Swappable PCIe Card
This topic describes how to remove a hot-swappable Peripheral Component
Interconnect Express (PCIe) card.
Scenarios
Remove a hot-swappable PCIe card if it has failed.
Prerequisites
Conditions
The following OSs support the hot swap feature of a PCIe card by default:
●
Windows Server 2008 R2
●
Windows Server 2012
●
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4
RHEL 6.9 supports hot swap of HBAs (BOM: 06030217) and 82599 NICs (BOM:
02311DVM).
By default, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 does not support the hot swap
feature of a PCIe card. To enable SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 to support
this feature, run the modprobe pciehp command to load the hot swap driver. To
view the hot swap driver, run the modinfo pciehp command.
Other OSs do not support the hot swap feature of a PCIe card.
