4.22 Adding a Mapping

This section introduces the procedure for adding a mapping.

Context

After adding a host to a host group, you can map a volume to the host or the host group.

NOTE

Before adding a mapping, make sure that the system has volumes that have not been mapped. A volume
can only be mapped once.

The VIS6000 provides two mapping methods. The difference between the two methods are
described as follows:

If a volume is added to a host group, all hosts in the host group share the volume.
