Run the
cable rf-power upstream
command to configure the upstream RF attenuation and
equalization of the combiner. After the configuration is complete, run the
display cable rf-
power upstream
command to query the configured values and actual values of the
attenuation and equalization.
6.2 Configuring Automatic Intelligent RF Adjustment
(DOCSIS 3.1)
This topic describes how to configure automatic intelligent radio frequency (RF) adjustment
on the command-line interface (CLI), to provide expected output signal transmit power for the
device based on the configuration and automatically adjust the equalization and attenuation
values. This topic is applied to DOCSIS 3.1 device.
Context
In automatic adjustment, the expected Tx power of an RF port needs to be configured first.
Then, the system measures the actual Tx power of the RF port and automatically adjusts the
attenuator and equalizer of the combiner.
The CMC supports Tx power of different signal types for different application scenarios:
l
Tx power of the DOCSIS 3.0 channel of the DOCSIS module
l
Tx power of the DOCSIS 3.1 channel of the DOCSIS module
NOTE
The difference between these 2 types of Tx power determines the Tx power difference of DOCSIS
3.1 and DOCSIS 3.0 channels.
l
The CMC supports output power of the RF OUT port.
l
The CMC supports configuration of the power difference between digital CATV signals
and DOCSIS 3.0 signals.
NOTE
The CMC does not support configuration of the power difference between analog CATV signals
and digital CATV signals. The power difference between analog CATV signals and digital CATV
signals output by the CMC is determined by that between analog CATV signals and digital CATV
signals in signals input by the optical receiver.
Procedure
Step 1
Run the
cable downstream
command to configure the Tx power of the DOCSIS 3.0 channel,
especially parameter
rf-power
.
Step 2
Run the
cable ofdm-downstream
command to configure the Tx power of the DOCSIS 3.1
channel, especially parameter
rf-power
.
Step 3
Run the
cable rf-powerframeiddownstream adjust-mode
command to set the adjustment
mode to auto.
Step 4
Run the
cable rf-power downstream
command to configure the expected downstream Tx
power of an RF port.
Step 5
Run the
cable rf-powerframeiddownstream catv-docsis-diff
command to configure the
power difference between the digital CATV channel and DOCSIS 3.0 channel.
