Dispose of the removed VCN500 that is confirmed faulty.

5.3.5 Replacing a LAN Switch

Prerequisites



A LAN switch needs to be replaced.



A spare LAN switch of the same model is available and functional.

Impact on the System

The monitoring system or devices in the area where the LAN switch is to be replaced may be
shut down.

Preparations

Tools: Phillips screwdriver, ESD gloves, marker

Materials: spare LAN switch

Document: documents delivered with the LAN switch

Skill requirement: weak-current engineer

Procedure

Step 1

Mark ports on the LAN switch and cables connected to the LAN switch.

Step 2

Remove the power plug of the LAN switch.

Step 3

Remove all cables connected to the LAN switch.

Step 4

Remove the screws securing the faulty LAN switch using a Phillips screwdriver, and take out
the faulty LAN switch.

Step 5

Install a new LAN switch.
