Installing a power supply
CAUTION:
•
Provide a circuit breaker for each power supply and make sure the circuit breaker is off before installation.
•
Do not install power supplies of different models on the same switch.
•
For dual-grid input, the input voltage, phase, and frequency for the two grids must be the same.
•
To avoid power supply damage or bodily injury, support the bottom of a power supply instead of holding its
handle for power supply movement.
•
Before installing a power supply, make sure the power supply is switched off.
•
Make sure the power of the power supply can satisfy the requirements of the switch.
•
To ensure good ventilation, install a blank filler panel over an empty slot.
The switch uses 1 + 1 power redundancy and supports AC and DC power input. For more
information about power supplies, see "Appendix B FRUs and compatibility matrixes."
For the a switch that uses the PSR1400-A or PSR2800-ACV, when the switch consumes less than
650 W power and does not use PoE, use the following power supplies:
•
The PSR650C-12A power supply
•
PWR-SPA power adapter and the PSR 650 power supply
If you select a power adapter, install it to the chassis, and then install a power supply to the
power adapter. The installation procedures are the same as installing the power supply to the
chassis.
For the power supplies and switch model compatibility, see "Appendix B FRUs and
compatibility matrixes."
