Troubleshooting
This chapter provides guidance for troubleshooting HPE Apollo sx40 server failures.
5.1
No power
1. Make sure that no short circuits exist between the motherboard and the chassis.
2. Verify that all jumpers are set to their default positions.
3. Turn the power switch on and off to test the system.
4. The battery on the motherboard might be old. Check to verify that it still supplies ~3VDC. If it
does not, replace it with a new one.
5.2
No video
1. Check that the VGA cable is connected properly and that the monitor is on.
2. Verify that the monitor is set to the correct video input.
3. Verify that the internal VGA cable is properly connected between the third PCIe riser and the
VGA port.
4. If the power is on but you have no video, remove all the add-on cards and cables.
