14 NAS e7000 v2 Quick Start Guide
Intended Audience
This guide assumes that the reader has knowledge of basic Microsoft® cluster
concepts, Microsoft administrative procedures, and file-sharing protocols. It is
recommended that the reader obtain supplemental documentation relative to these
topics prior to setting up the NAS e7000 v2.
Product Definition and Information
The NAS e7000 v2 is an enterprise class NAS/SAN solution that provides reliable
performance, manageability, and fault tolerance.
Server Hardware Features
The following features are included in the NAS e7000 v2:

Two Intel Pentium Xeon 2.0 GHz processors, with 2MB cache
■
4GB, 200 MHz PC1600 DDR SDRAM memory
■
64-bit PCI-X I/O technology (four hot-pluggable 100MHz slots, two
non-hotplug 100MHz slots)

Two 36.4-GB 10K U320 Universal hot-pluggable hard drives for the mirrored,
pre-loaded NAS operating system.
■
One integrated NC7770 10/100/1000 WOL (Wake on LAN) network interface
controller (NIC)
■
One NC3134 network interface controller
■
Embedded Smart Array 5i Plus controller
■
IDE DVD-ROM drive
■
Redundant hot-plug power supplies and fans

Embedded Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) port with license key included in the
