8. Prepare the server for operation

.

Remove the drive SATA-power Y-cable

Prerequisites

Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a T-15 Torx screwdriver available.

Procedure

1.

If you are replacing the drive 1 SATA-power Y-cable:

a.

Press and hold the release button on the drive 1 SATA connector, and then disconnect the SATA
connector.

b.

Remove the drive 1 power cable clip, and then disconnect the power connector.

c.

Release the drive 1 SATA cable from the middle frame cable tabs.

If you are replacing the server drive 2 SATA-power Y-cable:

a.

Press and hold the release button on the drive 1 SATA connector, and then disconnect the SATA
connector.
