NOTE:
For further information on con
fi
guring the adapter for teaming, load balancing, and VLAN support, see
the online Help on the Broadcom Advanced Control Suite 2 user interface.
Adding a VLAN
BASP also supports adding virtual LANs (VLANs) to a team. This enables the administrator to add
multiple virtual adapters for different subnets. In other words, the storage server can have one network
adapter for multiple subnets. With a VLAN, you can couple the functionality of load balancing for the
load balance members, and you can employ a failover adapter.
Up to 64 VLANs per team (63 VLANs that are tagged and 1 VLAN that is not tagged) can be de
fi
ned.
VLANs can only be created when all teams members are Broadcom adapters. Creating a VLAN with a
non-Broadcom adapter will result in an error message being displayed.
NOTE:
If you remove a team, do so only after you remove the individual virtual adapters that are a part of the
team.
NOTE:
For instructions on adding a VLAN, refer to the online Help on the Broadcom Advanced Control Suite
2 user interface.
