The update program issues an error message if the netdist serv er from whic h
the program is up dating con tains unsatised leset dep endencies.
T o v erify that the dep endencies are correct, t yp e the following command on the
clien t system once the netdist serv er is running:
update -s server hostname -c
Modifying What Filesets are Av ailable to Requesting Systems
T o c hange what lesets are a v ailable on the netdist serv er for distribution to
requesting systems y ou can mo dify the MAIN.pkg le. T o mo dify the MAIN.pkg
le once netdistd is running, follo w these steps:
1. Sh ut do wn the netdist serv er (see \Sh utting Down the Net w ork
Distribution Serv er" in this c hapter).
2. Determine whic h lesets y ou do not w an t to distribute o v er the net w ork.
3. Edit the MAIN.pkg le. Use vi (or an y appropriate text editor) to place a
p ound sign ( # ) at the b eginning of the statement or to remov e the line. Be
a w are of p ossible leset dep endencies, as describ ed in the preceding section.
4. Re-start the netdist serv er. F or example, to re-start the netdistd daemon
to distribute Series 700 softw are, en ter:
/etc/netdistd -l -f /netdist.700/MAIN.pkg -P 2107
F or example, to re-start the netdistd daemon to distribute Series 300 and
800 softw are, en ter:
/etc/netdistd -l lower c ase L
