OneView InstantOn hangs with error message "0:02 Adding
SAN to vCenter"
Symptom
OneView InstantOn hangs during the last two seconds of the deployment process with the following
message: 0:02 Adding SAN to vCenter.
Cause
This issue usually occurs when you specify a remote vCenter installation. One possible cause is that the
default vCenter user, [email protected], does not have full access to OneView for vCenter and
to the Storage Administration Portal. If it does not have access to both applications, the error message
appears.
Action
Ensure that the user [email protected] has full access to OneView for vCenter and the
Storage Administrator Portal.
vSphere HA errors
Perform the following steps to overcome any issues that are occurring with the vSphere cluster High
Availability configuration.
1.
Using the management VM, launch vSphere Client and login to the cluster using the following
credentials:
o
Hostname: localhost
o
User: [email protected]
o
Password: HyperConv!234
You may see some alarms against the cluster name, hosts and possibly VMs. These are informing of
problems with the configuration of High Availability in the new cluster.
You may also see errors in the Recent Tasks window, one of which is reporting an error when
migrating the Management VM to shared storage.
2.
Resolve the issues by disabling and enabling vSphere HA:
a.
Right click on the cluster name in the left pane of the client, select Edit Settings….
b.
Uncheck the Turn On vSphere HA item.
c.
Click OK.
d.
The alarms should clear and migration of the Management VM migration will begin - see its
progress in the Recent Tasks window.
e.
When the VM migration is complete, right-click the cluster name and select Edit Settings… again.
f.
Check the Turn On vSphere HA item.
g.
Click OK.
