After you successfully connect using a laptop ("
Configuring a laptop or workstation to access the
), OneView InstantOn will automatically start. If it does not, navigate to the
desktop and click the OneView InstantOn shortcut to start the application.
•
Tool tips and error information are available when you hover in a text box on a screen in OneView
InstantOn. The information might take a few seconds to display.
•
The OneView InstantOn version shown in the figures in this document may be different from what is
installed on your system. The content of the screens is the same.
•
To navigate through OneView InstantOn, you can click
Next
, or click a location in the left navigation
pane. The information that you enter on a screen is automatically saved. Before you click the Deploy
button, you can go back to any screen and change or add information.
•
If the system seems unresponsive, do not attempt to restart it. If processing is occurring, allow it to
complete.
Completing the Introduction screen
1.
Review the information on the screen. If you have not already done so, complete the worksheets in
the section "Preinstallation worksheets (on page
)."
2.
On the Introduction screen, accept the End User License Agreements, and then click
Next
.
Completing the vCenter screen
On the vCenter screen, select the instance of OneView for VMware vCenter that you will use:
•
Select
Local
if the system will use a local (included) copy of vCenter.
•
Select
Remote
if the system will connect to vCenter currently running on another server. For more
information about a Remote vCenter installation, see "Appendix F: Remote vCenter setup (on page
)."
NOTE:
•
If you select Remote, ensure that vCenter is not running on the Management VM of another
HC380 system. Otherwise, problems could occur during deployment.
•
If you select Remote, ensure that the VMware vCenter user has access to the OneView for
VMware vCenter Storage Administrator Portal. Otherwise, OneView InstantOn deployment
will not complete successfully.
•
CloudSystem supports a local vCenter deployment only.
Use one of the following sections, depending on whether you select
Local
or
Remote
.
IMPORTANT:
•
You cannot change the datacenter or cluster name after completing a new system
installation or expansion.
•
Ensure that you follow VMware naming convention when creating datacenter and cluster
names. If special characters are used in the names, OneView InstantOn will hang.
If you select Local:
1.
In the
Set Key
field, enter the VMware vCenter Server 6 Standard license and click
Apply
.
2.
In the
Cluster
field, specify the datacenter and cluster on OneView for VMware vCenter that will be
used for the system hosts and VSA storage by performing one of the following:
o
Click the down arrow to select it from the drop-down list.
