Heat sink and fan assembly

To remove the heat sink and fan assembly, use these procedures and illustrations.

Before removing the heat sink and fan assembly, follow these steps:

1.

Prepare the computer for disassembly (

).

2.

Remove the bottom cover (

Bottom cover on page 29

).

3.

Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see 

Battery on page 30

).

Remove the heat sink and fan assembly:

1.

Remove the four Phillips M2.0 × 3.0 screws (1) that secure the heat sink to the computer.

2.

Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 3.0 screws (2) that secure the fan to the computer.

3.

Disconnect the fan cable from the system board (3).

4.

Remove the fan and heat sink assembly from the computer (4).
