Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 28 ).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 28 ).
3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 30 ).
4. Remove the fan (see Fan on page 37 ).
When you replace the system board, be sure to remove the following components (as applicable) from the
defective system board and install them on the replacement system board:
●
Solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive on page 31 ).
●
WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 33 ).
●
Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 45 ).
Remove the system board:
1. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:

Display cable (ZIF) (2)
●
Left speaker cable (3)
●
Card reader cable (4)
●
Keyboard cable (ZIF) (5)
●
Touchpad cable (ZIF) (6)
