Before removing the fan, follow these steps:

1.

Prepare the computer for disassembly (

Preparation for disassembly on page 22

2.

Remove the bottom cover (see

Bottom cover on page 23

3.

Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see

Battery on page 25

).

Remove the fan:

1.

Detach the USB board cable from the fan (1). The cable is secured to the fan with adhesive.

2.

Disconnect the fan cable from the system board (2).

3.

Remove the two Phillips M2.0 × 4.0 screws (3) that secure the fan to the computer.

4.

Remove the fan (4).

Reverse this procedure to install the fan.
