CAUTION:
Do not operate the server for long periods with the access panel open or
removed. Operating the server in this manner results in improper airflow and improper cooling
that can lead to thermal damage.
Drive blank
CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server
unless all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
To remove the component:
1.
Remove the drive blank.
To replace the blank, slide the blank into the bay until it locks into place.
Hot-plug SAS/SATA drives and SSDs
CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server
unless all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
To remove the component:
1.
Back up all server data on the drive.
2.
Determine the status of the drive from the drive LED definitions ("

Remove the drive.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
NVMe drives
NVMe drives are supported on this server when the HPE 10SFF (6 NVMe + 4 SAS/SATA) Express Bay
Enablement Option or the 2SFF HPE Express Bay Drive Cage is installed. For more information on which
