Infrared cable

To remove the infrared cable, use this procedure and illustration.

Before removing the infrared cable, follow these steps:

1.

Prepare the computer for disassembly (see 

Preparation for disassembly on page 34

).

2.

Remove the bottom cover (see 

Bottom cover on page 34

).

3.

Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see 

Battery on page 36

).

Remove the infrared cable:

1.

Release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector (1) to which the infrared cable is connected, and then 

disconnect the cable from the system board.

2.

Release the ZIF connector (2) to which the infrared cable is connected, and then disconnect the cable from 

the system board.

3.

Remove the infrared cable from the computer (3).

Reverse this procedure to install the infrared cable.

To remove the system fan, use this procedure and illustration.
