7. SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS

CASTORS

S

ummary:

This service instruction outlines the procedure to replace either of the standard, steer or  

anti-static castor.

Tools Required:

•  3mm hex key

•  5mm hex key

•  11mm hex key

•  small flat blade screwdriver

Parts Required:

•  new castor (as required)

 

Location:

The castors are located at the corners of the bogie. 

Procedure:

1.  Raise the stretcher to the maximum height position and 

apply the brake.

2.  Using a scissor jack or equivalent, lift one end of the 

stretcher so that the castor can be extracted.

3.  See Detail A & Figure 14. Using a 3mm hex key, loosen 

the grub screw (A) securing the castor pedal (B) onto the 

hex brake rod (E). Remove castor pedals and set aside.   

Push the hex brake rod out far enough to clear the castor’s 

pintle.

4.  Using a 5mm hex key, remove the M6x8 socket head cap 

screw (F). 

5.  Remove the castor (G).
