4.2.1 Exhaust gas flues permitted by Building
Regulations
Only gas exhaust systems tested and approved by the re-
spective country/state may be fitted (in Austria the appro-
vals of the respective provinces are to be observed. The
ma nu facturers of the exhaust gas systems supply suit
-
able boiler attachments for connecting the exhaust gas
con nec tions to the exhaust gas flues.
In planning and installation of the exhaust gas flue, plan
-
ning instructions and manufacturer’s instructions for lay
-
ing and building legislation regulations must be observed.
Dis cussions are recommended in good time with the re
-
gional chimney inspector.
Your authorised Hoval agent will be pleased to supply
you with an approved exhaust system to suit your boiler.

4.2.3 projecting instructions
-
The exhaust gas must be routed through a tested and
approved exhaust gas system.
-
The exhaust gas system must be gas- and water-tight,
re sistant to corrosion and acids and must be approved for
operation at exhaust gas temperatures of up to 120 °C.
-
The exhaust gas system must be suitable for being op
-
erated under pressure.
-
The exhaust gas system must be laid with gradients
such that any condensation forming in the exhaust gas
system is fed back into the boiler to enable it to be be
neu tralised before being led away into the drainage.
-
When using exhaust gas systems of plastic, the regula
-
tions specific to the country of installation regarding the
use of the safety temperature limiter (supplied with the
UltraOil
®
) must be taken into account
-
Cross-sections must be calculated as for heating boil
-
ers without forced draughting arrangements. Observe
the SIA recommendation 384/4 “Flues for building heat
-
ing systems: calculations of cross-sections”
-
A lockable exhaust gas metering connection with circu
-
lar internal diameter of 10-21 mm must be incorporated
in to the exhaust gas flue. The connection must project
be yond the level of the heating insulation.

4.2.4 Dimensioning flue gas system
Nonbinding guide values:
The following formpieces have been taken into account in
determining the dimensioning diagrams:
-
1 T-piece 90° for boiler connection
-
1 arch 90° for supporting the flue pipe in the shaft
-
1 component for the chimney end
-
Combustion air duct
-
Length max. 10 m
-
2 standard arches 90°
-
1 Grid
-
Cleaning opening
-
1 Inlet and exhaust opening
Note:
The data contained in the following diagrams represent
guide values calculated at maximum output. An exact cal
-
culation for the flue gas duct must be made on-site.
