Rear harrow
At the rear the harrow is guided by the pres-
sure rollers, the holders are spring loaded and
individually fastened to the seed coulter frame.
The tines can be adjusted in height and must be
matched to soil conditions and harvest residues
before work is started.
Harrow
The harrow tines level the seedbed behind the
seed coulters and cover seed which is still laying
on the surface.
The tines can be lowered to compensate wear
or to increase the pre-tension.
Keep the rubber buffers free of oil. Oils
and grease can harm the rubber and
thus adversely affect the function.
Uniformer
The uniformer firms the seed in the seedbed and
presses it gently down.
Under moist conditions and sticky soils the
uniformer may pick up residues. In this case it
should be removed.
To avoid damaging the uniformers do not re-
verse with the machine lowered.
Press rollers
The press wheels are fastened to the coulter
arm with a serrated segment.
They guide the depth of the seed placement,
cover the seed with fine soil and press it down
on the seed.
A scraper keeps the press wheels free of dirt.
The scraper can be readjusted when required.
If depth guidance by the press wheels cannot be
assured on soft and sandy soils, these can be
replaced by press wheels with widths of 7.5 cm.
Maintenance
¾
Check the drill arm bearing (rubber); replace if
aged or the tensioning force has diminished.
Relieve the rubber when parking.
¾
Check the condition and light movement of
the press wheels, check the fastening screw
on the lock gearing for tight fit and retighten
with 400 Nm.
¾
Readjust the scraper on the press wheels as
required.
¾
Check the coulter discs and bearings for wear,
pre-tension and light movement.
¾
Tighten the coulter disc screws with 130 to
150 Nm.
¾
Check the scrapers and uniformers for condi-
tion, tight fit and adjustment.
