On all outlets, either a hose must be connected to the metering unit or a blind
plug inserted.
Air losses in the area of the central distributor may cause serious drilling er-
rors!
Error messages in the drill controls may be caused by air losses in the
MTS System or in the !
7.4 Combination fan
The combination fan simultaneously generates overpressure for the metering system
and provides air for the MTS system.
Adjusting the air flow
The required air flow depends on the travel speed and other influences.
The specified values therefore need to be considered as initial reference values. An
optimal setting must be found in the field.
1. Adjusting the fan speed.
Guide values:
Maize: 4,700 rpm
Sunflowers: 3,200-3,700 rpm
Soy: 4,800-5,300 rpm
2. Check the set air pressure on the pressure gauge.
The value in the pressure gauge thereby fluctuates around a mean value.
3. Refer to the settings table in section Adjusting the metering unit for the re-
quired overpressure. Adjust the overpressure with the lever on the left side of
the hopper.

4. Adjust the pressure for the MTS system.
Recommended value: 35-40 mbar above the set pressure.
5. Check the required pressure during work in the field. The pressure gauges at
the front of the hopper are synchronised with the pressure gauges on the ad-
justment lever and indicate the same readings.
