NOTE

Check the seed and fertiliser placement when
beginning to work (after a few metres of drill-
ing) and with larger fields also in between on
all coulters:
•
Drilling depth
•
Longitudinal distribution of the seed
•
Transverse distribution of the fertiliser
The sowing quality essentially depends on the
adjustments and checks made prior to and
during drilling, as well as on regular care and
maintenance of the machine.

Carry out all maintenance tasks and adjust-
ments before starting to sow.
Machine
¾
Have the hydraulic lines been connected
without being mixed up by mistake?
¾
Has the machine been levelled in working
position and the drilling depth correctly ad-
justed?
¾
Have the bout markers been set to the cor-
rect length?
Cultivation tools
¾
Are all cultivation tools and optional equip -
ment still in a serviceable state?
¾
Are all cultivation tools adjusted correctly?
Pneumatic system / Hydraulics
¾
Check the pressures on the pressure gauges
on the seed hopper, see also the chapter
Pneumatic system .
¾
Are all air lines between fan and coulters leak
tight and firmly connected?
Seed
¾
Check the quality of the seed, see chapter Me-
tering system single grain AirVac , Checking section.
Seed bar adjustment
The machine must be adjusted to the tractor and
the soil conditions to allow adequate space for
movement.
The seed bar is set correctly when the following
conditions are met:
•
The distributor tower for the fertiliser is upright.
•
The parallelograms are positioned horizontally
on level ground with the seed bar lowered:

Serious accidents from sagging machine parts

Staying under raised components of the ma-
chine is prohibited!
¾
Shut off all drives before any adjustment tasks
and secure against restarting.
