Use in the field
¾
Perform the calibration for fertiliser metering,
see chapter
Pneumatic system – fertiliser
and op-
erating instructions for the drill controls.
¾
Observe the notes in the following chapters
for the necessary settings on the fan, drill unit
and metering system.
¾
Align the seed bar, see chapter
Aligning the
seed bar
.
¾
Activate the drill controls.
Follow the associated operating instructions
for the settings on the drill controls.
¾
For PTO-shaft drive: Switch on the PTO-shaft.
Please note
¾
For PTO-shaft drive: Allow the PTO-shaft
pumps to warm up prior to use in the field for
approx. 5 min at idle speed.
¾
Check the pre-tensioning pressure for the
folding cylinder at regular intervals
while drill-
ing
, repress if necessary. Minimum pressure
100 bar.
¾
Switch the “Hydraulic valve block” control unit
to floating position when sowing.
Headland
The fan continues to run at the headlands with
the machine lifted out.
¾
Accelerate uniformly and not too much during
entering.
¾
Do not reduce the fan speed too early and
too far.
Otherwise fertiliser would remain in the hoses
and cause blockage.
Without optional auxiliary equipment, the
fertiliser hoses are not monitored by the drill
controls.
Working speed
The working speed depends on the field condi
-
tions (soil type, harvest residues, etc.), seed,
seed quantity and other factors.
¾
Operate somewhat slower under difficult
conditions.
Adjusting the
metering delay
When starting to use the machine the grains
from the individual metering units drop directly
on the field.
Fertiliser needs approx. 1 - 2 seconds longer for
this process. Depending on the working speed,
there may therefore be no fertiliser over the first
few meters.
In the drill controls one can set a delay for seed
metering after fertiliser metering so that seed
and fertiliser will be in the ground at the same
time.
The delay is factory-set to “0”. The delay can be
set in 0.1 second steps up to a value of max. 2
seconds.
Once use in the field has been started a warning
tone will sound from the start of fertiliser meter-
ing to the start of single grain metering. This
gives the driver the possibility to check the delay.
Due to the delay the machine must be lowered
earlier.
For settings, see the operating instructions of
the drill controls
Setting – Seed offset.
