8.3 Filling with water
When filling, pay attention to the permis
-
sible payload of your crop protection
sprayer!
When filling the crop protection sprayer you
must strictly consider the different specific
densities [kg/l] of the individual fluids.
Fluid
Density [kg/l]
water
1
carbonyl diamide
1.11
AHL
1.28
NP-solution
1.38
Example:
With 4000 l AHL the solution tank
container is filled with a mass of
4000 l x 1.28 kg/l =
5120 kg
!
WARNING
Danger for persons / animals due
to accidental contact with solution
when filling the
solution tank!
¾
Wear your personal protective outfit when
processing crop protection agents or draining
solution from the solution tank.
The required protective clothing depends on
the information of the manufacturer, the prod-
uct information, the instructions for use, the
safety data sheet or the operating instructions
for the crop protection product to be used.
¾
Before each filling check the crop protection
sprayer for damage, e.g. leaking container
and hoses as well as the correct positioning
of all operating elements.
¾
Never leave the crop protection sprayer unat-
tended during filling.
¾
Never exceed the nominal capacity when fill
-
ing the solution tank.
¾
Never exceed the permissible payload of the
crop protection sprayer when filling the solu
-
tion tank.
Pay attention to the specific weight of the fluid
to be filled in.
¾
When filling keep an eye on the level gauge
to avoid overfilling of the solution tank.
¾
When filling the solution tank pay attention to
sealed surfaces, so that no solution runs into
the sewer system.
¾
No foam should escape from the solution tank
during filling.
A large cross-section funnel that reaches
down to the bottom of the solution tank, most
effectively prevents the formation of foam.
Adding an anti-foaming agent will also prevent
the formation of foam in the solution tank.
¾
When filling the solution tank do not make a
direct connection between the filling hose and
the contents in the solution tank!
Only this prevents back siphoning or back
pressing of solution into the drinking water
line.
¾
Fasten the end of the filling hose at least
10 cm above the filling opening in the solu
-
tion tank.
The free outflow created this way offers the
highest level of safety against the back flow
of chemical into the drinking water line.
¾
Fill the solution tank only with the filling screen
in place.
The most harmless way of filling is at the
edge of the field from the water tanker (if
possible make use of a natural inclination).
Depending on the crop protection product
used this filling method is not allowed in
water protection zones.
You should in any case ask the "Subordinate
water authority".
