2. Principles of Operation

The system is lever operated and does not require an external power source or battery.

1. Glass spreader blades are mechanically brought into contact with the drop of blood.
2. The system stops to allow the blood to moisten the spreader blades.
3. The spreader blades gently pull the blood along the slide at a predetermined angle and

preselected speed.

4. The speed control which is achieved by an air-operated piston, gently delivers the blood in the

standard wedge configuration.
