ESCRIPTION
The NCO-10 carbon monoxide (CO) detector is designed for use
with the G-10 CO detection system in car parks and other
enclosed spaces where levels of CO gas must be monitored and
controlled effectively.
The detection system is designed to detect levels of CO lower than
those considered safe for human inhalation and so prevent the
build up of hazardous CO gas. Detection time is less than 10
seconds.
I
NSTALLATION
Placement of carbon monoxide detectors
As CO gas is lighter than air, detectors should be placed just
above the level where the gas is expected to be generated (above
40cm in the case of car parks).
Installing detectors too high or placing detectors too close to
windows, air inlets or other areas of ventilation may prevent the
gas from reaching the detector.

Locking mechanism:
j
Tab closed (detector head not locked);
k
Tab broken (detector head locked).
The detector is supplied in 3 parts: the detector head, the detector
base and the fixing bracket.
If necessary the fixing bracket can be used as a connection box.
To install:
1. Attach fixing bracket to surface using two 50mm screws.
2. Attach detector base to fixing bracket using two 9mm screws.
3. Insert detector head into base, push and turn clockwise until
detector locks into place.
The detector head may be locked into the base by breaking the
blocking tab at the base of the detector head (figure
v
). To
remove detector head once the blocking tab has been removed
insert screwdriver into base slot and push.
When in service the detector LED will flash green. A flashing red
LED indicates fault. A constant red LED indicates alarm (this
occurs when CO levels of 50 PPM are detected).
M
AINTENANCE
Fault repair must be carried out by qualified
personnel. Do not manipulate interior.
No specific maintenance is required. The following guidelines will
help ensure your CO detection system remains in good working
order:
§
Exposure to strong gases or fumes may damage sensor.
§
Keep the CO detection system switched on once installed for
the built-in cleaning system to operate.
§
Estimated detector lifespan is four years.
