Motion Event Recording Setup

This chapter describes how you set the system to respond to external events.

Note

Event video clips are stored in the event disk partition.

When you set both timelapse and event recording simultaneously, the event recording
settings are used when an event is detected. For example, if a motion event is detected
on Camera 4, the settings you entered into the Motion Event function for Camera 4 are
used.

In timed mode, the event is recorded for a specific time.

In automatic mode, the recording continues as long as the event is active.

Events have a record speed and quality independent of the timelapse setting. During
events, you may specify whether the beeper should go off or if any of the alarm outputs
change state. You can also select which cameras are recorded during the event.

Setting Motion Events

Before you use motion events, you must enable them for each camera and enter some
basic settings. For more information on how a motion event triggers an event video clip
to be recorded, see
