Video Authentication

4.

Typically, Honeywell will only give out the password to the original end user listed on 
the purchase invoice. You may be asked to fill out a request form or provide other 
information. Technical Support will then provide the Secret Key.

Authenticating the Image

1.

From RAS, find and open the desired .dfv clip (

File 

➤

 Open Video/Image File

).

2.

Play the clip using the VCR-like playback controls located at the bottom of the RAS 
Viewer screen. Press 

Pause

 to select the image you wish to authenticate, then select 

File 

➤

 Authenticate Image

 from the main RAS menu.

3.

At the prompt, enter the secret key that you previously obtained from Honeywell 
Technical Support.

4.

If the secret password matches the embedded key, then the image is considered 
secure. A message onscreen tells you that the image has been authenticated.

Note

The password can be used subsequent times on any PC running RAS and 
still function properly. The password is also valid for any other clips extracted 
from the same HRDV unit.
