TROUBLESHOOTING / FAQ
The following menu can be used to set up XILON's L
ON

ORKS
-related properties.

XILON
must be able to communicate with the L
ON
W
ORKS
nodes under investigation
(see 'L
ON
W
ORKS
Considerations'). You must therefore assign appropriate IDs to the
domains, subnets, and nodes.
NOTE:
To be able to receive service pin messages, it is recommended that you
set one domain to zero length (then referred to as the
zero-length domain
or
default domain
). The second domain (usually called the
project domain
)
should be given the same domain ID as the one used by the L
ON
W
ORKS
nodes under investigation.
NOTE:
Because the subnet node address in one domain should be unique, it is
recommended that you assign to the subnet an address of "255” and to
the node an address of "127”. These are the highest valid values.
Assigning the addresses in a project successively is the best way to avoid
address conflicts.
The same dialog is used for the domain table menu. The only difference is that, in
the set-up dialog, the database line is not used. For further description of the
individual menu items, refer also to 'Menu Domain Table'.
Does XILON work across LON routers?
Yes it will work across routers, but there may be timing problems.
However, under some circumstances, NV updates could become lost. This is of
importance in particular in the context of the "All Automatic" function.
The more routers located between the node and XILON, the greater the risk of
losing messages.
What is the maximum number of devices stored in the XILON data base?
There is no absolute upper limit to the number of nodes which can be stored in the
XILON data base. Rather, this depends on the usage of the functions (especially
table functions: domain table, address table, NV table).
In any event, there is sufficient space for all of the devices of one channel (62
nodes).
If you use only the Honeywell functions, you can have far more than 100 nodes in
the database.
