Repair of Lens Assembly

(Subtask 33-30-15-300-005-A01)

(1)

Replace the damaged gasket (40, IPL Figure 1) as follows:

(a)

Remove the old gasket (40) from the retainer (35) and discard.

(b)

Remove the old RTV 157 gray, adhesive/sealant residue from the retainer (35). Refer to
CLEANING (PGBLK 33-30-15-4000), for details.

WARNING:

ADHESIVE IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. AVOID INHALATION OF VAPORS AND
CONTACT WITH SKIN. OBSERVE FIRE PRECAUTIONS.

(c)

Apply RTV 157 gray, adhesive/sealant to the new gasket (40) and position on the
retainer (35). Use a clean A-A-59323 cleaning cloth to remove excess RTV 157 gray,
adhesive/sealant. Let air dry for 24 hours.

(2)

Replace the damaged lens (45) as follows:

(a)

Remove the old lens (45) from the retainer (35) and discard.

(b)

Remove old RTV 157 gray, adhesive/sealant residue from the retainer (35). Refer to
CLEANING (PGBLK 33-30-15-4000), for details.

WARNING:

ADHESIVE IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. AVOID INHALATION OF VAPORS AND
CONTACT WITH SKIN. OBSERVE FIRE PRECAUTIONS.

(c)

Apply RTV 157 gray, adhesive/sealant to recess on new the lens (45) and position on
the retainer (35). Use a clean A-A-59323 cleaning cloth to remove excess sealant.
Let air dry for 24 hours.
