HYDRAULIC BRAKE

17-15

Apply silicone grease to a new pad pin stopper ring
outer surface.

Install the pad pin by pushing the pads against the
pad spring to align the pad pin holes in the pads
and caliper.

Tighten the pad pin to the specified torque.

Operate the right/left brake lever to seat the caliper
pistons against the pads.

REAR

Remove the muffler (page 3-32).

Push the caliper piston all the way in by pushing the
caliper body inward to allow installation of new
brake pads.

Remove the rear caliper mounting bolts and rear
brake caliper from the swingarm.

TORQUE: 17 N·m (1.7 kgf·m, 13 lbf·ft)

Check the fluid level

in the master
