Throttle grip freeplay can be adjusted at either end
of the throttle cable.
Minor adjustment is made with the upper adjuster.
Slide the rubber boot off the adjuster.
Loosen the lock nut, turn the adjuster as required
and tighten the lock nut.
After adjustment, recheck the throttle operation.
Install the rubber boot securely.
If freeplay is out of specification, turn the adjuster
all the way in and turn it out one turn, then adjust
the major adjustment.
Major adjustment is made with the lower adjuster
on the throttle body.
Remove the luggage lower box (page 3-16).
Loosen the lock nut, turn the adjusting nut as
required and tighten the lock nut.
After adjustment, recheck the throttle operation.
Install the luggage lower box (page 3-16).
AIR CLEANER
• The viscous paper element type air cleaner can
not be cleaned because the element contains a
dust adhesive.
• If the scooter is used in unusually wet or dusty
areas, more frequent inspections are required.
Remove the right body cover (page 3-11).
Remove the screws and air cleaner cover.
Remove the air cleaner element.
Check the seals of inner side of the air cleaner cover
for deterioration, wear or damage.
Clean the inside of air cleaner element if necessary.
Install the air cleaner cover, screws and tighten
them to the specified torque.
Install the right body cover (page 3-11).
