Before performing any maintenance, place the grass/weed trimmer
on a level surface, stop the engine and make sure that the engine
switch is in the OFF position to be certain the engine will not start
accidentally.
Use genuine Honda parts or their equivalent for maintenance or repair.
Replacement parts which are not of equivalent quality may damage
the trimmer.
The grass/weed trimmer should be serviced by an authorized
Honda dealer unless the owner has proper tools and service data
and feels he is mechanically qualified.
Periodic inspection and adjustment of the Honda UMR425 is essential
if high level performance is to be maintained. Regular maintenance
will also help to extend service life. The required service intervals and
the kind of maintenance to be performed are described in chart on the
following page
.
For longer service and efficiency, keep the underside of the debris
shield clean and free of accumulated grass clippings by washing it
down with a hose after each use and/or cleaning it with a wire brush
and scraper.
