5.1.1 Direct pairing with a Homematic IP device
You can directly pair the Homematic IP Radiator
Thermostat – basic (UK) e.g. to other radiators of
the same type, to the Homematic IP Window /
Door Contact with magnet (HmIP-SWDM) and/or
the Homematic IP Wall Thermostat (HmIP-WT).
Make sure you maintain a distance of at least
50 cm between the devices.
Pairing can be cancelled by briefly pressing the
system button
(B) . This will be confirmed by the
device LED (B) lighting red.
To connect the device with another Homematic IP device,
the pairing mode of both devices has to be activated.
Therefore, proceed as follows:
• Open the battery compartment by first pulling
the battery compartment cover (D) down and
then upwards (see figure 3) .
• Remove the insulation strip from the battery
compartment of the radiator thermostat.
• Press and hold down the system button (B) for
at least 4 seconds to activate the teach-in mode
(see figure 4) . The device LED (B) starts to flash
orange. Teach-in mode remains activated for 3
minutes.
