Taking proper actions when alarm sounds
The alarm system consists of external and internal automatic horns with two distinctive audible
warnings, and a set of light indicators in the instrument panel. The alarm system warns the operator of
certain conditions that, if left without due attention, may result in damage to the tractor. The following
procedure provides instructions what the operator must do if the alarm turns on.
Warning:
Tampering with alarm system will void your warranty and may be a cause of
injuries and damage to the tractor.
To take proper actions if the external alarm activates:
1. Stop the tractor and lift the dump platform.
2. Shut the tractor of and remove the ignition key.
3. Secure the dump platform with the safety support guard and let the tractor cool for five minutes.
4. Replace the engine air filter. See
Checking engine air intake
procedure. If a new engine air filter
is not available, clean the clogged engine air filter, reinstall it, and replace it as soon as possible.
To take proper actions if the alarm inside the cab activates:
Note:
The alarm activates automatically when the differential lock is engaged, notifying the
operator that
l
Extreme shear forces have been applied to the tractor gear system.
l
Differential lock cannot be used for a prolonged period of time.
If the differential lock is not engaged, there are three possible alarming scenarios:
l
Coolant temperature is above 110°C (230°F) and the engine is overheating.
l
Engine oil pressure is too low.
l
You are driving with the parking brake engaged.
1. Check if the coolant temperature indicator is lit in the instrument panel, and the indicator in the
coolant temperature gauge is in the red zone.
2. If step 1 is true:
1. Stop the tractor but keep the engine running.
2. See
Troubleshooting
chapter.
Caution:
Never shut off the engine if the coolant temperature gauge is in the red zone (p.
287).
