Bleeding fuel system
This procedure provides instruction how to bleed the fuel system if air has entered the fuel system. Air
can enter the fuel system due to the following:
l
empty fuel tank
l
fuel filter replacement
l
leak in the fuel system
l
repairs to the fuel system
To bleed the fuel system:
Danger:
Risk of fire, diesel fuel is flammable.
Failure to comply with the following can result in serious or fatal injuries, and damage to the
tractor.
l
Do not smoke or light an open fire while handling diesel fuel.
l
Do not allow diesel fuel to contact hot engine components, electrical components, and
the battery.
Caution:
Risk of slipping
Failure to comply with the following could result in serious or fatal injuries:
l
Avoid spilling diesel fuel.
l
Avoid mixing fluids and lubricants with water.
l
Before exchanging the fuel pre-filter (?), ensure that the fuel tank is not empty.
l
When changing the filter, use a suitable container to capture fuel.
l
Remove leaked or spilled fluids immediately with an oil binding agent.
1. Fill the fuel tank with low-sulfur diesel fuel (how much?)
2. Operate the pump (term? how?) in the direction of the arrow (?) until you feel (?) that strong
resistance and pressure has been built up.
3. The return line has to be filled (how to check?)
4. Start the engine. Follow
Starting engine procedure.
5. Let the engine run idle or with a small load (?). It will press air towards the fuel tank via the return
line.
6. Repeat Starting engine procedure until the engine runs smoothly, without misfiring.
Caution:
Dispose of any waste according to the rules and regulations applicable in your
area.
