11.3 Removing Controller Boards
NOTICE:
• You cannot remove the Channel Boards to which the LUN paths or NVM
subsystem ports are assigned. Before starting the removal procedure, release
the assignment of the LUN paths by referring to
“
Deleting LUN Paths from Ports
”
. If the operation mode of Fibre Channel ports is set to NVMe,
release the assignment of the NVM subsystem ports before the removal procedure
by referring to Provisioning Guide for Open Systems. For checking the operation
mode of Fibre Channel ports, refer to
“
Procedure for Checking Operation Mode of
Port
”
• When it is assumed that the MP operating rate exceeds 70% if Controller Boards
are removed, the removal of Controller Boards are suppressed. Before removing
Controller Boards, lower the MP operating rate.
• The work time becomes longer depending on I/O load and write pending.
When the write pending rate of any of MPUs/CLPRs in the system exceeds 20%,
the removal of Controller Boards is suppressed. Before removing the Controller
Boards, lower the I/O load and write pending rate.
• When Virtual Partition Manager is used, the removal of Controller Boards, which
causes the cache capacity of CLPR0 to be smaller than 4 GB, fails.
Before removing Controller Boards, confirm that the cache capacity of CLPR0 is
greater than that of the Controller Boards to be removed by at least 4 GB.
