1.4.1

Supply voltage with the characteristic value A

A 5-pin M12  plug is available for the redundant supply to the device.

See “Devices featuring supply voltage with the characteristic value A” on
page 22.

1.4.2

Supply voltage with the characteristic value F

A 5-pin 7/8" connector is available to supply the device with PoE redundantly.

See “Devices featuring supply voltage with the characteristic value F” on
page 23.

1.4.3

Supply voltage with the characteristic value N

A 4-pin 7/8" connector is available to supply the device.

See “Devices featuring supply voltage with the characteristic value N” on
page 24.

1.5

Ethernet ports

You can connect end devices and other segments to the device ports using
twisted pair cables or optical fibers (F/O).
You find information on pin assigments for making patch cables here:

“Pin assignments” on page 20

1.5.1

10/100 Mbit/s twisted pair port

This port is designed as an 4-pin M12 socket.
The 10/100 Mbit/s twisted pair port offers you the ability to connect network
components according to the IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX standard.
This port supports:

Autonegotiation

Autopolarity

Autocrossing

Delivery state: Autonegotiation activated
The socket housing is electrically connected with the device housing.

Note:

Some of these ports also support Power over Ethernet (PoE).

See “10/100 Mbit/s PoE port” on page 19.
