3.3.2 Timebase and Sampling Rate
The timebase setting establishes the rate of input signal waveform acquisition, specified as time-per-
division on the horizontal axis (time/div).
The sampling setting specifies the interval from one sample to the next.
(The sampling rate is shown in brackets under the timebase for the Memory function
(see illustration at right). The displayed sampling rate changes as the time axis range
changes.)
Procedure
Press the
DISP
key to open the Waveform screen.
With the Memory Function

Move the cursor to the
[Timebase]
item.

Set the time per division on the horizontal axis
(time axis).

To control sampling with an external signal, select
[External]
and input the signal from the
external sampling terminal. To reset the setting to the internal sampling, select
[Internal]
and set
the time.
When external sampling is selected, the number of samples per division can be set in the range
from 10 - 1000 S/div.

With the Recorder Function

The range of choices depends on the selected timebase.
The higher the sampling rate, the more detailed the changes that can be observed.
