BookSense XT – User Manual

there is no paired information, the BookSense XT will provide one list for scanning Bluetooth

devices.

Using the menu to turn on Bluetooth, follow these steps:

1) Assuming that Bluetooth is currently turned off, press the MENU button to access the

menu.

2) Press the UP or DOWN buttons to move to the “Global options, pull down” and press the

RIGHT, OK, or MENU button.

3) Press the UP or DOWN buttons to move to the “Bluetooth options, pull down” and press

the RIGHT, OK, or MENU button.

4) The only item listed is “Turn on Bluetooth”. Select it pressing the RIGHT, OK, or MENU

button.

5) Then “Bluetooth on, Bluetooth device list, scan for audio device” and press the OK, or

MENU button. BookSense XT will start searching for all compatible Bluetooth devices

which are in range. A beeping sound is heard during the scanning process.

6) After a short delay, a list of all compatible devices that have been detected is displayed

and BookSense XT announces how many devices were found.

7) Assuming that your headset has been detected, press the UP or DOWN button to move

to its entry on the displayed list and press the OK, or MENU button to select it.

BookSense XT will ask you to enter the PIN code for your headset.

8) Press the numeric button to enter the correct PIN code and press the OK button. If this is

entered correctly, BookSense XT is connected to the headset and a musical jingle is

heard. Shortly afterwards you should be able to hear the BookSense XT audio. This will

confirm that your headset has been correctly paired with the BookSense XT.

9) If at any stage, you wish to abort this process, press the CANCEL button until you exit

the menu.

Note: The PIN code which is required in the above process is supplied with your headset

instructions. You will need this code to complete the connection process. Many headsets use

the code “0000” but you should double check this for your own headset.

Note: It is highly recommended that you use a Bluetooth 2.0 headset as headsets

compatible with earlier Bluetooth versions may experience interruptions in the audio stream.

9.6.2 Connecting a Bluetooth headset

To connect to a Bluetooth headset if you exit the menu while Bluetooth is on, then follow

these steps:

1) First turn on BookSense XT’s Bluetooth facility, as detailed above.
