Example
5.9.1
Overview
This section describes how to set up a small EtherCAT network using the
NXHX board as EtherCAT slave device and a
PC Card cifX
as master
device. The NXHX board (i. e. the EtherCAT slave) is configured by the
cifX Driver Setup Utility
via
Host Interface
and
NXPCA-PCI Adapter
Board
, the PC Card cifX is configured by the
SYCON.net
configuration
software. A SYCON.net configuration example project and a device
description file for the NXHX board serving as EtherCAT slave is provided
on the product DVD in the

After configuration, you can test the I/O communication of the NXHX board.
5.9.2
Prerequisites
You have downloaded the EtherCAT NXF firmware to the NXHX board
(see
Downloading NXF Firmware via PCI and Host Interface
section on
page 51).
The NXHX board is connected to the configuration PC via
NXPCA-PCI
Adapter Board
and
CAB-NXPCA-PCI
cable. Instructions for this can be

You have installed the
SYCON.net
configuration software version 1.360
or higher on your PC (on the NXHX 52-JTAG product DVD, open the
Software\SYCON.net
directory, then double-click
SYCONnet netX
setup.exe
file. Follow the instructions of the installation wizard).
You have installed the cifX Device Driver on your PC
(on the NXHX 52-JTAG product DVD, open the
Driver and
Toolkit\Device Driver (NXDRV-WIN)\Installation
directory,
then double-click
cifX Device Driver Setup.exe
file.
