Chapter 2 Installation and Connection
2.1 Device Installation
During device installation:
Keep all liquids away from the device.
Use brackets for rack mounting.
Ensure ample room for audio and video cables.
When routing cables, ensure that the bend radius of the cables are no less than five times than
its diameter.
Ensure the alarm and RS-485 cables are well connected.
Allow at least 2cm (≈0.75-inch) of space between racks mounted devices.
Ensure the device is grounded.
Environmental temperature should be within the range of -10 to +55° C, +14 to +131° F.
Environmental humidity should be within the range of 10% to 90%.
Before cleaning the device, cut off electricity and plug out the power cable.
To protect the device from short circuit caused by the damp dust in circuit board, clean the
circuit, cables, chassis, and fans with a soft brush.
Use the neutral detergent diluted with water to remove the dirt. Instead of the strong
detergent and volatile solvent, like alcohol, benzene, and diluent, or the surface coating will be
damaged.
A factory recommended hard disk should be used for this device.
2.2 Hard Disk Installation
Before you start:
Cut off the power supply for the device before installing a hard disk. A factory recommended hard
disk should be used for this installation.
Tools Required: Screwdriver.
Purpose:
Follow the steps to install hard disk.
Step 1
Remove the cover from the device by unfastening the screws on the rear and side panel.
