5 Assembly
5.1 Installation position
Attention must be paid to the direction of flow.
The installation position is arbitrary .
The pref erred installation position should be with the spindle horizontal.
5.2 Notes regarding the installation

Use suitable tools.

Clean tools bef ore the installation

Use suitable transport and lif ting equipment for the installation.

Open the packaging only directly before the installation. Freedom from oil and grease f or oxygen
(O
2
)
Div erter v alves for oxygen are permanently marked with “O
2
”.

Only install the div erter valve if the maximum operating pressure and operating conditions of the
plant correspond to the marking on the div erter v alve.

Remov e protective caps or covers before assembly.

Inspect the div erter valve for dirt and damage.
DO NOT install damaged or dirty div erter valves.

Remov e dirt and residues f rom the pipeline and div erter valve in order to prev ent leaks.

Av oid damaging the connections.
The sealing surf aces must remain clean and intact.

Seal the div erter v alve with suitable seals.
No sealant (sealing tape, liquid sealing tape) may enter the div erter valve.
Respect the suitability for use with O
2
.

Connect pipelines in a f orce-f ree and torque-free manner.
Stress-f ree installation.

In order to ensure trouble-f ree operation, no impermissible static, thermal or dynamic stresses
may be transmitted to the diverter valve. Observe reaction forces.

Temperature-dependent changes in length in the pipework sy stem must be compensated with
expansion joints.

Fasten the div erter valve with the existing threads in the body.

The div erter v alve must be protected against dirt and damage during construction work.

Check the leak-tightness.
