Tension
Adjustment Rod

 Insert the replacement Back Fit Adjustment 
Handle into the Spine by sliding it into the 
slot as shown. Make sure the Knob is fully 
engaged by pushing it in as far as possible. 
Verify that the knob is securely seated by 
striking the end of the Knob with either the 
palm of your hand or a rubber mallet.

TOOLS REQUIRED:

 1/16” Allen Wrench

Remove back tension adjustment rod by insert-
ing 1/16” allen wrench underneath rod to 
release and then pulling out.  (Chairs built prior 
to 4/3/09 can be removed by wiggling up and 
down while pulling out to disengage.)
